DAY 9 OF SOUL FAST: APPRECIATING EDUCATION AND REFRAINING FROM IMPATIENCE
BY BRIAN MATAMBO
TODAY BE GRATEFUL FOR: EDUCATION:
FORMAL SCHOOLING, LIFE LESSONS, PROFESSIONAL TRAINING, OR SELF-TAUGHT SKILLS.
TODAY WE FAST FROM: IMPATIENCE:
LET’S FOCUS ON RELEASING IMPATIENCE.
As we step into Day 9 of our soul-fasting journey, our focus turns to valuing our education and learning experiences, while simultaneously working to let go of impatience. This day is about acknowledging the power of knowledge and the virtue of patience in our personal growth and achievements.
MEDITATION FOCUS FOR GRATITUDE: EDUCATION
Today, let’s be thankful for our educational experiences — formal schooling, life lessons, professional training, or self-taught skills. Reflect on the knowledge you’ve acquired, the mentors who’ve guided you, and the growth you’ve experienced through learning. Appreciate how education has shaped your understanding of the world and opened doors to new opportunities.
MEDITATION FOCUS FOR FASTING: IMPATIENCE
In parallel, let’s focus on releasing impatience. Impatience often arises from a desire to see immediate results or a reluctance to endure the process of gradual development. Today, when you feel impatient, take a deep breath and remind yourself of the value of patience in learning and growth. Recognize that meaningful progress often requires time and perseverance.
PRACTICE FOR THE DAY
Dedicate some time to an educational activity that interests you, whether it’s reading, taking an online course, or exploring a new skill. As you do this, be mindful of moments when you feel impatient. Acknowledge these feelings and then consciously choose to embrace the process of learning with patience and openness.
Day 9 of our Soul Fast is about embracing the value of our educational journeys and the importance of patience in the process of learning and growing. It’s a day to celebrate knowledge and the virtue of taking the time to truly understand and master new challenges.
