INTRODUCTION TO DAY 14
On Day 14 of our soul-fasting journey, we immerse ourselves in the world of music and art, acknowledging their power to inspire, heal, and uplift. Concurrently, we strive to let go of feelings of discontent, which can often prevent us from appreciating the beauty and joy in our lives.
MEDITATION FOCUS FOR GRATITUDE: MUSIC AND ART
Today, let’s celebrate the richness that music and art bring to our lives. Whether it’s a song that moves you, a painting that speaks to you, a book that transports you, or a dance that captivates you, take time to appreciate these artistic expressions. Reflect on how they enrich your emotions, thoughts, and experiences, and be thankful for the creativity and beauty they represent.
MEDITATION FOCUS FOR FASTING: DISCONTENT
As we embrace the arts, let’s also work on shedding feelings of discontent. This state of mind can arise from focusing on what we lack rather than what we have. Whenever you notice feelings of dissatisfaction or longing, pause and shift your focus to the abundance in your life. Appreciate the present moment and the joys you do have, no matter how small they may seem.
PRACTICE FOR THE DAY
Engage with music or art in a way that brings you joy. Listen to your favourite album, visit an art gallery, read a cherished book, or create something artistic yourself. As you do this, be mindful of any discontent that arises. Acknowledge it, then consciously choose to focus on the aspects of your life that bring you happiness and fulfilment.
Day 14 is about finding joy and inspiration in music and art and learning to appreciate the present blessings in our lives, rather than dwelling on what’s missing. It’s a day to surround ourselves with beauty and creativity, fostering a sense of contentment and gratitude.
