INTRODUCTION TO DAY 20.
As we approach the end of our soul-fasting journey, on Day 20, let’s turn our gratitude towards healthcare professionals and work on releasing feelings of despair, focusing instead on hope and resilience.
MEDITATION FOCUS FOR GRATITUDE: HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS.
Today, we acknowledge and appreciate the dedication, skill, and compassion of healthcare professionals. These individuals work tirelessly to care for the health and well-being of others, often under challenging circumstances. They put their own lives at risk to save lives. Even as we are faced with the covid and the cholera challenges, let us be grateful for the healthcare system. Reflect on the times you or your loved ones have been cared for by these professionals and be thankful for their commitment to healing and helping.
MEDITATION FOCUS FOR FASTING: DESPAIR.
In parallel, let’s address and release any feelings of despair. Despair can overwhelm and paralyze us, making it difficult to see the possibilities for change and improvement. When feelings of hopelessness arise, acknowledge them, then consciously shift towards thoughts of hope and resilience. Remember past challenges you’ve overcome and use them as a reminder of your strength and ability to persevere.
PRACTICE FOR THE DAY.
If possible, show appreciation for a healthcare professional in your life, whether through a simple thank you message, a positive review, or a kind gesture. For moments when you feel despair, engage in an activity that uplifts you or reminds you of your strengths and past victories. This could be revisiting a personal success, talking to a supportive friend, or engaging in a hobby that brings you joy.
Day 20 is about honouring those who dedicate their lives to our health and combating feelings of despair with reminders of our inner strength and the support around us. It’s a day to remember that even in difficult times, there is hope and a capacity within each of us to move forward.
